Who decides on replacing the intercom in a block of flats?

The housing community or cooperative decides, following its own rules. We prepare a quote and a system description that the board can present to residents, and then we install what has been decided.

Can the existing cables be reused?

Often, yes. Digital and two-wire systems run on two wires, and those are usually already in the risers. We check the condition of the system during the survey, and only then do we know whether replacing the devices is enough.

Can residents have video monitors instead of handsets?

Yes. Each flat can have a basic handset or a monitor that shows the person at the entrance. How to split the difference in cost is up to the community.

What about names on the panel?

The panel can show flat numbers instead of names. Visitors dial the flat number, and the property manager keeps the list of residents. That way fewer personal details are on display.

What if a resident loses a fob?

The lost fob is blocked in the system and the resident gets a new one. There is no need to change the lock on the stairwell door.

Do you also install CCTV for stairwells and garages?

Yes. In the same buildings we install cameras in stairwells, at entrances, bin areas and garages. The housing community or cooperative decides on the scope of CCTV too, and we aim the cameras so that they cover only shared areas.
